The Goldman Environment Award 2007












Every year, $125,000 US gets awarded to 6 considered "environmental heroes" from each continent. These are the this years' winners from upper left to right: Hammerskjoeld Simwinga; Willie Corduff; Orri Vigfusson. Bottom left to right; Julio Gusurichi; Sophia Rabliauskas; Tsetsegee Munkhbayar.

Here is an example:
WILLIE CORDUFF, an Irish farmer, objected to Shell's proposed pipeline which would go through his land. After other farmers caved under pressure, Willie kept put which consequently landed him in jail! READ the whole story HERE!
